2025 Sorento EX with the 2.5L. A little over 6k miles.
It's been happening since I've had the car and does it every time I drive. It hasn't affected braking so I don't think safety is a concern. It's more of a bother because I always hear the sound and feel somewhat of a friction when pressing. I took it to the dealer twice about it. The first time they confirmed the sound. Per the service note, they "sprayed brake pedal with some cleaner to reduce stiffness when pressing. Brake pedal works and sounds normal." I picked the car up from the dealer and the same sound was there as I drove off the lot. I figured I'd give it some time and maybe it'll go away. It never did, so I took it back. This time they replaced the brake booster. Per the service note, "Pedal does squeak and make a whooshing noise. Noise is normal and squeak caused by internal failure in brake booster. Replaced brake booster assembly and verified no longer making squeaking noise." When I picked it up, it made the same noise as soon as I hit the brake and has continued to every time I drive. This was back in November. Again, I haven't noticed any issue with actual braking to stop the vehicle, including before they replaced the brake booster. I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. If so, would you say it's normal? Maybe it is normal but I've just never had a vehicle consistently make this noise.
