Hey everyone,

I’m 41 years old and recently made a career change into the automotive industry. I’ve got 25+ years of customer service experience, and I’m currently working at an independent shop as an assistant service advisor making $19.25/hour.

I’m still pretty new to this field and trying to learn as much as I can, but I’d really appreciate any advice from those with more experience.

How can I grow quickly in this role?

What skills should I focus on developing?

Any tips for moving up to a full service advisor position or increasing pay?

Things you wish you knew when you first started?

Thanks in advance—really looking to make this a long-term career and do well in it.
