Hello everyone,

I’ll try to keep this brief. I’m from a Middle Eastern country and have been doing research in the U.S. for the past 2–3 years. My DS-2019 is still valid, and I matched this year. I’m currently in the process of changing my visa status from a research J-1 to a clinical J-1 through ECFMG.

I got married to my fiancée last week through an online marriage ceremony. I am still in the U.S. and, because of the current situation back home, I don’t want to risk traveling right now.

Would it be possible to bring my wife to the U.S. on a J-2 visa even though our marriage was conducted online?

Anyone has the same case?
