Shout out to Magnum Research Support
So, bought my first Desert Eagle recently. .50 AE with muzzle break. Found a great deal with an online retailer and placed my order. Saw that the shipment was coming from a different state, so I assume it was a drop ship. No worries, as long as I get the right gun I'm happy.
Get the call from my FFL and go to pick it up. It's the right model and everything is there but . . . the case was slightly damages. One of the clasps was missing and one of the hinges would come apart when opening. Not a big deal in the big scheme of things and I know most people just throw those out. But I save everything for all my guns and I like having the original cases with the matching label, so I was a little disappointed.
I looked online to see what a replacement case would go for and found they were around $50-$60 on eBay (which I wasn't wanting to pay just for a case). Plus I would have to have no label or find a way to remove the original and move it to a new case.
So, I decided to contact Magnum Research support just to see what they could offer. Maybe I could buy a case cheaper or, if I'm lucky, they would sent me one for free and I just have to decide what to do about the label. Within three minutes of sending an email explaining the problem and including a photo, I received a reply asking me for the serial number and a shipping address. Once I sent that info, I received another reply in about 15 minutes stating they were sending me a case free of charge and they were printing a new label for the case. I never even asked about the label!
I just picked up the gun a few days ago and haven't even shot it yet. But I'm sincerely happy with their level of support.
