Obsession
I noticed that real Nikki seemed to be able to subtly break through the obsession possession through artistic expression(little unintended rhyme there), such as the meme saying “I want to wear your skin as a sweater”, saying something is in a manner of speaking wearing her skin as a sweater, the “You/not me” in the polaroids, and the passage from the book she was writing about Hansel and Gretel, but not as a normal brother and sister, as an incestuous relationship that “only the branch of a willow tree could conjure”, the Hansel and Gretel part being a reference to how Ian said that she said she saw Bear like a brother. Now, in the scene where she…to put it lightly, is doubting his love for her, she moves around the bed holding flowers over her face. I would consider this to be some form of artistic expression, so what do you think she’s trying to say here? My idea is that the flowers represent her expressed love for him, and them covering her face is her saying that it’s not her, and instead just a display over her true self. Also, did anyone notice any other examples of artistic expression allowing Nikki to break through?
