I have a relative who wants to get involved in law enforcement in a non-sworn role, specifically criminal intelligence analyst. He's aiming for this because he tried for a sworn role a few years ago and was DQ'd for a misdemeanor DV charge that was expunged. Recently he had a mental health crisis/diagnosed with a serious mental disorder and was involuntarily committed to the psych ward a few different times. He also got a restraining order put on him. What are his odds of getting into a law enforcement with non-sworn role background checks? I’m asking because I think I should tell him he needs to change the degree he’s pursuing from Criminal Justice to something else
