My 3 year old keeps failing hearing screenings
My child is in speech therapy. At the evaluation a year ago they did the test where they put the device in his ear, and they said he didn’t pass. They said it could be a device malfunction. Fast forward a year, at his reevaluation they did the test again. He failed again. So I made an appointment with the audiologist. The appointment was made for 3 months later. We just got done with the appointment, he passed part of the exam where she made sounds to see if he would react. But he failed the test where they put the device in his ear AGAIN. She said it could be from a cold, and to come back in three months. What concerns me is he has failed this test 3 times years and months apart. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or know what it could mean? I know he can hear. But why would he fail this specific test so many times?
