So this Sunday we went to Churchgate, near Horniman Circle, to grab coffee at Nandan’s. Since the road was under construction, we decided to park our small car near Horniman Circle, opposite Starbucks.
There’s a prepaid parking system there. The guy asked how long we’d stay we said 1–3 hours. He charged ₹150 and gave a slip that actually said truck parking. We called him back and asked for the correct receipt, and he printed another one for 3/4 wheeler vehicles.
Right next to Starbucks, there’s an official rate board that clearly says:
1–3 hours: Rs 85
3–6 hours: Rs 120
We asked for a refund, he returned Rs 20 first, saying he didn’t have change and would give the rest later. After 2 hours, we went back and asked for the remaining Rs 45. He gave Rs 50 and said “rakho Rs 5.”
They try to scam people who don't care to read, which might be most of the people parking there
Honestly, we don’t mind paying extra, but don’t try to scam people.
For anyone parking there, please check the official rates displayed and don’t blindly trust what the parking guys charge.
