Can I replace the booster without unhooking brake lines from master cylinder?
Need a dummy check.
TLDR: I want to change out the booster without having to unhook brake lines and (more importantly) bleed the system. If I gently bent the master cylinder/hard lines away from the booster, think I could avoid that?
Context:
Bought an e30 with M50 swap, and turns out the PO didn’t change or move the booster. So the manifold is sitting against it. I tried shaving the fins all the way off but it’s just not enough - I need a few more mm. There’s a big vibration in the car that’s definitely just engine/rpm based (not driveline), and I’m guessing this is it. I have the new booster etc ready to go. Just trying to cut a corner here - and wondering if anyone else has ever done the same. I’m sure I’ll have to remove the manifold in either case, which is fine.
I promise I usually do things the “right” way lol. But every once in a while…
