I read this more than 10 years ago, it's black and white and is about a princess being kept captive by some kind of dark knight. Eventually a good knight comes and defeats the dark knight, but I think the ending was some kind of cyclical thing where eventually the good knight turns dark and becomes the new kidnapper?

I remember the vibe being pretty depressing
