36F with past history of multiple small PEs in right lung in June of 2025 after starting my hormonal birth control 1 month after left hip replacement. I've only ever seen my PCP and been on Eliquis since discharge from hospital. They gave me heparin while I was admitted then started Eliquis at discharge. I have an an appointment with pulmonary to follow-up on PE but I had to request this referral. My question is should I also being following up with hematology? If anyone else has been through something similar what referrals did you have to do? Also did you have to stay on Eliquis for life?
