After losing my Pom, I realized I was missing something important”

After losing our Pomeranian Raja a couple years ago to pancreatic cancer, I realized how hard it is to remember the small day-to-day changes—meals, behavior, energy, etc.

Looking back, I probably missed patterns until something felt “off.” That experience stuck with me, and it’s actually why I ended up building something to help track those kinds of changes more intentionally.

Curious, do most of you just rely on memory, or do you track things in some way?

Building a “system of record” for dog owners , would love honest feedback

Hey all, I’ve been building something and wanted to get some feedback from other founders.

The idea came from an experience and observation of others: most dog owners don’t actually remember what’s happening day to day with their dog. Things like food changes, behavior shifts, activity, small health signals. When something goes wrong, they’re trying to reconstruct everything from memory.

So I started building DogVida (currently on Android), which is a system of record for a dog’s daily life, with logging and a layer that surfaces patterns over time.

Right now the core is:

  • quick logging for meals, activity, behavior, and health
  • voice logging so you don’t have to type
  • an assistant that looks at history and gives observational insights

Where I’m spending most of my time now is making sure this doesn’t become just another logging tool, but something that actually helps owners understand what’s going on over time.

Curious how you’d think about:

  • making something like this sticky without adding friction
  • balancing simplicity vs depth in a product like this
  • early distribution channels that might work well for this kind of use case

Would appreciate any thoughts.

Built a dog health + lifestyle app turning daily logs into real insights (would love feedback)

Hey everyone , hope all are doing well. I wanted to share something I’ve been working on and get your thoughts.

I released a product DogVida on Android (since I use a Pixel 8A). I have built products before so now I'm wanting to blend everything I've done into something of my own again.

The idea came from a simple problem: most dog owners don’t really remember what’s happening day-to-day with their dog (food changes, behavior shifts, activity, etc.), and that makes it harder to spot patterns or issues early. There are various efforts out there, I just wasn't satisfied with them :).

So I wanted to create something that acts like a “system of record” for your dog’s life, not just notes, but something that actually helps you understand what’s going on.

What it does:

  • Simple daily logging (meals, activity, behavior, health, etc.)
  • Voice logging (talk instead of typing)
  • AI assistant (“Raja”) that looks at your logs and gives observational insights
  • Detects patterns and changes over time (e.g. routine shifts, recurring symptoms)
  • Designed to be lightweight — no wearables, just your phone

Why I built it:
I lost my dog to cancer, and looking back, I realized there were small signals I didn’t fully connect at the time. That stuck with me. I wanted to build something that helps owners be more aware without being overwhelming or “medical.”

Would love any feedback 🙏
