Hello,
To start, I recently bought a Domane AL 5. Even though I bought it on trekbikes.com, my LBS said they wouldn't build it because the system shipped it from another Trek retailer, not the warehouse. After winning this dispute, I waited 2 weeks for pedals to arrivealso . Then I took it for the test drive.
I know in the photo that the chainlink is misrouted. However, I am certain that the rear derailleur inner plate came with material missing when I picked it up at the bike shop.
I wasn't sure something was wrong until I test rode it. This is because the chain started to finally move and made a screeching sound and also chipped the material and paint.
I suspect that my LBS didn't assemble it right or it was damaged during shipping/manufacturing because there's a plethora of other issues. Issues such as a swaying front wheel, tension in a chain link causing a skipping rhythm, and bowden cables plucking the spokes of the wheel, etc.
Anyway, I was wondering what I should do. I really want to go to the LBS and ask for a full refund or a replacement assembly (not at this shop again though). I never crashed it or even rode a mile with it yet.
