Refusal after getting pink slip(requested: 2 years of bank statement, educational loan and social media)
Hi, I am from Nepal.
My U.S. student visa application was refused under Section 214(b). During the first interview, I was issued a pink slip and asked to submit 2 years of bank statements, educational loan papers, and mail all social media links .
The very next day, I mailed all my social media links, making them public. I submitted all the links(even all the fb links that I had not been using for past 5 years. I also submitted the Pinterest and discord links, which I didn’t mention while filling out my DS-160.
Now comes the unusual stuff.
I received a mail from them, which said this”
Please provide direct links to all your social media accounts. Do not omit any accounts.
You must set all social media accounts to public visibility. Your case will remain in administrative processing until you complete this requirement.
Before confirming that your accounts are public, verify the settings by having someone who is not connected to your accounts (not a friend, follower, or connection) attempt to view your full profile. This requirement applies to your entire profile, not just individual posts.
Do not respond that your accounts are public until you have completed this verification step.”
I was excited as I was 100% sure my visa would be granted as I had enough financials to fund my education. Therefore, I roughly double checked the links and send them, thinking I would get my decision early.
Since my discord link was not working, I sent a username of it, thinking that It was a private platform and it wouldn’t matter a lot.
About my finances,
University of North Florida’s COA was around 27k after scholarship.
I had credit of 3 crores(200k USD), combining 2 bank statements in years and closing balance of 20k. I also had an educational loan of 43k, which I took from Kumari bank of Nepal.
I would genuinely thank you if you guys could point out the possible reasons behind my rejection, and the things that I need to update before I reapply.
