So as the title says, I’m trying to learn keys by ear and I think I’m getting better at it however, I keep running into the problem of finding the relative major or minor. My question is how to differentiate between the actual key versus the relative of it. They both sound like “home” to me

My question is in songs specifically rock songs with a lot of power chords, does the chord progression still have the sound of an interval? Like going from a C power chord to an E power chord will still sound similar to the notes C to E. I’m also wondering if this will aid in me trying to learn songs by ear eventually
