$250k is what I have across my 401ks right now. I don't own a home but I did pay off my student loans this year... from 2012-2023, I was only putting away about 10% of my income.

Was booking two flights today with different origins for me and relative to fly to AMS (we would meet in PHL and fly over together). I booked their flight and when I returned to my tab, the price for MCO-PHL-AMS in business (marketed as flagship first??) went from $4,000 to $5,400

That is insane. Especially when there is tons of availability in all classes. Not to mention I’ve been watching prices and they just keep going up. Tried multiple computers/phone/vpn/incognito. Sigh.

Trip is late September

Should I book PE and wait for upgrade for PHL-AMS? See a few posts that sometimes reticket is actually cheaper so

If I book PE (non refundable) can I then cancel and rebook to business later (and still get the funds applied to the rebook)?

I put one of the $4k flights on hold but MCO-PHL is like 7am with 8+ layover in PHL. Is there a way to eventually change the first flight?

I am gold, not like that matters…
