So I recently came across a video about gaming hot takes where the guy was talking about how people who only run meta builds in gaming are ruining the games as people get annoying when you play the game any different way than what is considered the "meta".
Now I am a long time KSP enjoyer, been playing since 2020, have probably more than 5000 hours across PC and PS4 and consider KSP to be one of only like three or four games I regularly return to. My question is, does the discussion above apply to the funny space game with lovecraftian physics gods or do you think KSP is too "niche"/unique to really have a "meta" that has potential to ruin the game?
I think that A) KSP's meta mainly consists of learning real physics and flight paths in order to get anywhere B) KSP's high-tier engines are (unless you mod it) the only ones of their kind so it makes sense to essentially only use them by the "end-game" (think nuclear or ion engine) and C) KSP is so mod-able that any meta that was there in the beginning has essentially evaporated thanks to people like Nertea or the folks from Bluedog Design Bureau, esspecially since most people seem to play with mods nowadays.
Lemme hear your thoughts!
