I’m trying to theory craft a new character. Im a sucker for any sort of lightning type of powers for rp reasons. I can’t decide if this weapon is good enough to build a character around until Gesen Bow.
Since there’s no +2 in front of the bows name my grug brain tells me it’s not a good item. Is my grug brain correct?
I’ve done some googling and have found a few mods that enhance a couple of the stronghold quest lines in BG2.
I’ve been looking for one that improves the ranger cabin quest line and haven’t found anything.
If you know of one please share. I love ranger classes and the ranger cabin quest line (and the cabin itself lol) is kind of a let down. With the exception of moon dog summon of course
Today I learned the importance of actually reading every change mods will make. If I don’t I will end up with a Garrick who is a new custom class that can’t learn Invocation or Necromancy spells. No magic missile, chromatic orb or skull traps for him :(
Title says it all. It’s honestly not an issue I compulsively put notes in my scroll case anyways. Despite there being 0 reason to do it.
I’m just curious why it’s gone. I’m using several mods. But nothing that would get rid of the copy note option. (Unfinished business, black hearts, gorgons eye, BG mini quest/encounters, rr and a couple class and kit mods)
I’m gonna go through the sites for the mods later after work and poke around mainly because I’m curious. Anyone else run into this/knows which mod (or combo of mods I guess?) that would get rid copy note or I bug it out?

What’s the vibe right now in your claims dept? I have good news I wanted to share. My employer is bringing back an old practice they use to have. “Fishbowl days” it’s a day where you are turned off for new clams the entire day. You have the day to work on the stuff you have and on personal development stuff.
Everyone gets a set amount of time from my understanding sorta like PTO. They did it before but it was a defunct thing for a few years by the time I started.
Does anyone else’s employer do this?
I got sloppy and didn’t really plan out the mods I added and the order I added them. I’m not having issues in this play through but I want to go back and add more mods.
I thought I made a copy of the install folder, turns out I didn’t lol. Do I just delete the folder and uninstall and start over? I was going through the install folder trying to figure what was mod related and what wasn’t and I don’t want to bother with that.
I’m a few minutes from just buying a GOG copy since one I’m using is steam.
Semi related to my last post about loving the bandit camp raid in bg1.
I love the first few acts of bg1. What quest mods extend it? Basically everything leading up to entering Baldurs Gate.
On this run I’m playing the Black Hearts mod and it’s done a lot for chapter 3.

Playing through BGEE 1 as a Sharpshooter Thief (have rogue rebalance and songs and silence mods)
Since my character is a thief already could I get away with dual classing Imoen sooner rather than later?

Please understand I’m very tech illiterate lol. I was trying to create a copy of BGSOD so I could add mods. Instead I now have a folder with a portrait folder, save files for both BG and SOD and the .lua.
When I launch BG now my save files aren’t there. All I can do is start a new game. I then decided to add custom portraits to the portrait folder and tried to start a new game. The customs weren’t there.
I found a second folder everything is the same minus the saves. I put the custom portraits in that folder. Then I reloaded and was able to use those custom portraits when starting a new game.
Remember I am tech illiterate lol, why is the game pulling from that new folder and not the older folder with the saves? How can I make the game switch between which folders it’s using? The folder with no saves in it. Is that where I’ll want to install the mods?
Please go easy on me for the probably stupid questions. Only game I ever successfully added mods to was OG Diablo wayyyyy back in the day.

Playing through BG2 and maybe I’m not looking in the right places but the amount of bolts. Especially bolts of lightning are sparse. In BG2 I loved popping stealth, running around with cheetah paws and blasting enemies with bolts of lightning out of the army scythe.
I transferred my BG1 character over so I was looking forward to continuing this with grandmaster crossbow proficiency. Just to be met with the fact there’s not many vendors with bolts of lightning. And the ones who have them have low stock compared to BG1.
Is minimal magic bolts just the standard for BG2? I have fire tooth and that’s fun but I can’t unload as many consecutive shots with it.
I’m loving BG2 overall though. Just wishing I chose a different bow type I guess.
Additionally I found the boomerang dagger and it’s a fun concept. And I think it’d mesh well with the go stealth mode and blast play style I like. Are there more weapons like this? Because this (probably super unviable in the long run) play style is super fun to me lol
