The Twilight Sad

Just a wee note to say that, after seeing them at Glasgow Barrowlands last Tuesday, if you're lucky enough to have The Twilight Sad supporting The Cure at a summer show near you, you're in for a great gig. They were simply stunning, and their new album sounds fantastic live. Simone-Marie and Cat, the new rhythm section, just bring so much power to the songs, and it's great that there's now female backing vocals to accompany James. It makes all the difference.

Unfortunately, they're not playing the Edinburgh Summer Sessions gig I've got tickets for (although Mogwai and Slowdive are!), so I won't get the chance to witness it all over again, but last Tuesday will live long in the memory.
