Hello!
While that’s just the plot and powers of my main guy, I am designing a traditional power system around it.
For it, my inspiration comes from “He Who Fights With Monsters” while also different traditional MMORPG classes.
The idea for it is this:
A system provides you the option of a class. Unless you are given a specific class through either a bloodline or strong affinities, your options are:
Craftsman
Warrior
Healer
Mage
You do not have traditional levels, but you can obtain up to five abilities through the use of these things called “Ether Stones”
Ether Stones are rocks that are extremely vast and varied. They can be associated with a material, an element, an animal, hell, even concepts and ideas. The stones are used to give abilities based on the type of ether. The abilities are vast and varied, and are tailored based on the class, the personality type and the ranking of the stone.
For Example: A common grade “Acid” stone for a craftsman who has a propensity for Sewing, allows anything they sew to have a slight resistance to acid.
While a Warrior who prefers to rely on Archery with a mythic tier “Zebra” stone, can manifest an arrow that launches 512 Zebras out of it into the space. Or the arrow, when striking someone, has the force of 513 Rushing Zebras.
They can only utilize one ability per stone and they can have as many abilities per types of stones as they wish or can obtain.
Is this too similar to “He Who Fights with Monsters?” Or do I actually have something here. Feel free to drop any criticism, advice, or suggestions.
Thanks!
