[ALL] i'm dissapointed af by Tell Me Why. Am i missing smth??

(SORRY FOR GRAMMAR ERROERS, ENGLISH ISNT MY FIRST LANGUAGE) My first DONTNOD game was LIS 2 which I really enjoyed so I went to look at the other games of the studio, and Tell Me Why had an insanely interesting premisse to me. Sibling reunion after 10 years after trauma + transgenderism??? It seemed peak. And I did really enjoy the 1st chapter, but from the 2nd onwards the game becomes all about investigation and ig thats not necessarily a bad thing, but it wasnt what I was expecting, I was expecting a story about the siblings dealing with the present day instead of digging into the past, and also the investigation and mysteries themselves were boring and the revelations were unimpactful and the characters' reactions to things were senseless imo. Like, in the begining of the game both the siblings and also the player hold the belief that Mary Anne attempted murder on Tyler, her own child, and the siblings hate her for it. But later they find out that Mary Anne's friend Tessa reported her for child neglect (which as far as I could tell, was a fair accusation) and then the siblings were angry and surprised by that, getting confused at the fact that their mother was neglectful and angry at Tessa for reporting her as if it was some unbelievable accusation and horrible thing to do to Mary Anne who didnt deserve it as if (from their pov) she didnt literally try to murder Tyler and they werent talking about how they hate her like 10 mins ago. And as the player, I felt absolutely nothing finding out about this revelation because, well, I am not surprised at all that the woman who tried to murder her own child (as far as i knew) was reported by her friend for child neglect. And pretty much the enterity of episode 2 is dedicated to this nothing-burger investigation. In episode 3 Alyson is extremely depressed because of this discovery but I cannot for the life of me understand why that would affect her so much. It was such a nothing-burger revelation in the scale of what they already believed about their mother. We keep discovering new things about Mary Anne like how her mother was controling and she went no contact with her family, how she had a first child who died as a baby, and how Tom is the twins' father... and I'm sorry but I just dont care?? I dont see why I'm supposed to care. I dont know this lady so I dont care on a personal level and also it doesnt really recontextualize much of the story so I dont care in a narrative level either. As we all know, in the end of the game it is revealed that the twins might have been misremembering things and maybe their mother wasnt trying to kill Tyler after all, she was just going to kill herself because she was deppresed, and thats the revelation that the whole game had been building up to, and I'm sorry but after all those hours of investigating and puzzle solving that was an underwhelmimg as f*ck final revelation. In general I think that the game is pretencious and pretends to be way deeper and more emotional than it actually is. But I know that many people really like this game so I want to ask: am I missing smth? Am I looking at it from the wrong angle?
