Wario Ware Get it Together should NOT cost $50
I’m not a big Wario/Wario Ware fan in general, in fact, my only experience prior to downloading the Get It Together demo was exclusively through the built-in minigames that take place when playing on the Wario Ware stage in smash bros.
However, I like to purchase games that I think I’d like especially when they’re from smaller or underrepresented Nintendo franchises because I want to see less popular Nintendo IP’s get new entries, new fans, and succeed. I’m thinking games like Yoshi, Metroid, Kirby, Donkey Kong, and in this case, Wario.
I can’t justify paying $50 for something that’s essentially just a bunch of mini games set in an extremely repetitive gameplay loop. Even worse, there’s little to no variety in the gameplay itself – outside of the mini games themselves – as there are hardly any controller inputs usable in game. Even worse, (because I do enjoy the mini games,) I looked up if the game is beatable and the main story mode only takes about 2.5 hours to beat.
As a result, I ABSOLUTELY cannot buy this game or understand how this game costs $50 in any universe.
Mario Party Jamboree is only $10 more, (admittedly has less mini games, but) each mini game is a longer, fuller/more in-depth experience with varying play and control styles. They’re also fully 3D animated/rendered, and outside of the mini games themselves there’s the literal “board-based” gameplay and character interactions, as well as other game modes.
It honestly makes me mad more than anything because Wario Ware is a super underrepresented franchise and could definitely be a more frequently released title (especially because the gameplay and art style are both pretty simple and easy to produce.) It could also have WAY more fans, but it doesn’t because the game costs way too much money for what it is, so people don’t buy it, then Nintendo thinks the game is unpopular because the sale numbers are terrible, so they won’t make another one for years.
It would 100% be more popular if the game was accurately priced around $15-$20 because more people would buy it.
