I have an iPhone 14 Pro that is out of warranty. Yesterday, while casually using my phone, a green line appeared, which is a known issue with the 13 and 14 models.
I went to the service center in Pandeshwar, where they gave me false hope and suggested that removing and reattaching the ribbon cable might fix the issue. In desperation, I agreed, but later realized this is not the correct way to diagnose the problem, since it is clearly a faulty display. I ended up paying ₹1850 for this and honestly felt scammed when I realized there was no real chance of it working.
I have seen on other forums that Apple support has helped people get their displays replaced for free in similar cases.
I literally saved up money to buy this phone so I could use it long term without issues.
After all this, they shamelessly told me to pay ₹39k for a screen replacement and didn’t even bother to support or guide me further.
Why should I pay for something that is a known defect?
If anyone has had a similar experience and managed to get it replaced for free at iPlanet, please share.
