Hello! I fish primarily this one 24 acre, 42 foot deep pond in Massachusetts for trout. Powerbait does pretty well for me, but I've been trying spinners/spoons for years with 0 success. No idea why. Several people on fishbrain swear the gold kastmaster specifically slays trout at that exact pond. I've seen posts saying they caught double digit amounts of trout in one outing there with gold kastmasters. I can't tell you how many times I've thrown a gold kastmaster way out deep, from all sides of the pond. I've tried letting it sink to the bottom, letting it sink in the middle of the water column, fast retrieve, slow retrieve, erratic retrieve, etc. nothing. Almost always fish for trout at dusk. The only thing I've gotten from any of those lures was a fatass bluegill on a little cleo the other day. Zero trout. They just stocked tiger trout so I really wanted to get on my first one this season!! I'm using 6 lb mono on my 7' ultralight.
