Her acting is bad imo and made season 2 hard to watch and I'm trying to figure out why I feel this way cause it seems like everyone else thought her acting was fine....?? This became even more clear & unbearable in her scenes with Carrie Mulligan who is such a phenomenal actress I mean Carrie Mulligan just knocks it out of the park, every single scene she's in, she is fully embodied in the character and brings truth, empathy and subtlety to the characters world both internally and externally -- it's actually so inspiring to watch. Even though I didn't like Lindsay as a character, I was so excited whenever Carrie was on screen because I knew she was going to deliver her lines in really cool/impressive/unpredictable ways.. I wonder if Cailee is using a specific acting technique that made all her scenes feel so deeply flat, impersonal, fake and strange. I know her character is supposed to be secretive, inauthentic and hide her true self, but she is also supposed to have moments where her true feelings show and I just didn't think she did a good job of conveying them.
The only way I can describe her acting is it's as if she's hyper-aware that she's acting and it's coming off as I'm watching Cailee trying to act. Especially the beginning scenes of s2 episode 7 where she's saying bye to austin... It was so bad. But I am open to hearing other opinions on this and open to the possibility that maybe her acting is good but just wasn't for me.
