Difficulties using EWI Solo as a MIDI instrument
I recently got an EWI Solo (stands for electric wind instrument) and I wanted to use it for my music on here. I can't connect the audio from the instrument directly (I'll just have to get better recording equipment I guess), but it does let me use my EWI as a MIDI instrument, like you would with an electric keyboard.
Overall this is pretty fun to mess around with, but there are a few issues that make it sound a little bit strange. For example, when I play a note it changes the volume based on how hard I attacked with my breath, but if I'm trying to do quick notes or play notes in succession they sound really quiet. The EWI also has live breath control, so I can crescendo or decrescendo with my normal playing, but the MIDI import doesn't keep this same effect.
Basically, is there any way that I can more effectively use my EWI as a MIDI instrument? Are there settings or features I could use to make it better? I could theoretically go in and manually edit every note, but that sounds like a pain. I would especially like to hear if anyone else has ever successfully used their EWI like this and how they did that. Thanks in advance!
