Spring flings?
Anyone else’s horse acting like a lunatic? My 15yo TB gelding moved stalls yesterday, and moved pastures with his herd. He stays in during the day bc he needs 2 doses of allergy meds. He’s always been chill about the solitude, in fact he seemed to enjoy the quiet and private hay.
Today as soon as I let him out of his stall he started wigging out. Took him into the outdoor track next to what used to be his pasture. “OMG WHERE ARE MY FRIENDS?????” Spent the whole time having a meltdown, so I worked him a little on halts and backing without having his face pulled on as he was originally trained and called it.
Putting him in his pasture again he was screaming for his friends and pushing to the gate so we hand walked until he would behave because I’m not getting run over opening a gate. As predicted, literally galloped to his friends. This is VERY out of character for my usually “chillest horse in the barn” gentleman. So yeah. Spring.
Anyone else’s horse losing their damn mind?
Picture of the little asshole for cuteness.
