Hi, so, Date A Demon! (DAD) was approximately 85% an April Fools joke for my other GD fangame Trigonometry Dash. Basically, it was supposed to be a one day thing for Trigonometry Dash as a "theme" of "Hey! We are only doing Date A Demon now!". However, I saw the massively positive (almost 100% positive...) reaction to DAD, I decided to make a little more.

Is DAD still a joke? Honestly, I'm not sure. I've genuinely began to write some story, and I also started planning on how I'll approach this technically. BIG update from last time though! I do have an idea on what I want to do with Insane Demon and Extreme Demon as romance options! Additionally, I want to show off a fully fleshed out idea that someone gave me as a way to incorporate the monsters into the world of DAD. This idea ultimately gave birth to Insane Demon's character. This round of concept art really showcases Extreme Demon, Insane Demon, Junior & his buddies, and a couple extra things.

New Characters and Changes To Familiar Faces

Easy - Easy's design was majorly changed since the first post. My roommate told me, "If you are going to make him a romance option, don't you think he should look a bit older?". I agreed, and that's why Easy is now: A Bagpiping Camping Ice-Cream Buying Local Goofball! (or E.A.S.Y for short). In all seriousness, his new design feels much older than the previous one.

Extreme Demon - Extreme Demon's design was a tough egg to crack! I had help from several friends to try and come up with the best one. Extreme Demon went through each of these phases before finally landing on the one you see in the cover image.

1. A really buff tomboy-ish girl who loved to work out. Felt like this was out of place.

2. A girl who is crazy about science and chemistry. Loves explosions. Very shortlived idea. Clashes too much with Easy Demon's personality.

3. A very short girl, almost as short as the Player. Someone to get down to Player's height, y'know? Felt like this was out of place and also kinda weird. Very shortlived idea as well.

4. An extreme gothic punk who is only and exclusively friends with the local goofball, Easy. You can see this design on one of the artwork pages. Me n' some friends fell in love with the fact that Easy and Extreme Demon should be the best of friends. Didn't like the character trope through. That's why we eventually decided on:

5. A relaxed girl who likes to indulge in nature. She wears a more modest gothic look. She considers Easy one of her best friends. Easy likes to buy ice cream for Extreme Demon, Player, and himself as they talk long walks outside. Viola! Now that's an Extreme Demon I can get behind!

Story-wise, I'm not quite there yet... :( (if you have any ideas, i'll be glad to take them)

Junior & Co. - Descendants of the Cursed Thorn from ages ago still roam the planet! Most notably, Cursed Thorn Jr. the VIII (or... just Junior) and his elder cousin, Wicked Thorn (just Wick for short) now attend Geometry High (GH)! Junior has been dating Insane Demon ever since freshman year! This year though, Wick transferred over to GH to meet up once again with Junior. With his cousin back in the picture, Junior once again travels down the path of wickedness, bullying his peers and tormenting his classmates! Trying to impress his older cousin, he ended up making a name for himself in school. I wonder how Insane Demon feels about this?

Fernando (or Fern, as they call him) is based on the large animated spike monster. His name is a reference to Fernanfloo. Carlos is a based on the smaller animated spike monster. He is a reference to an unlockable in the most popular Platformer level, Coin Temple. Rex was a last minute decision because I wanted to make a character that uses the Deadlocked monster. A headcanon my roommate came up with is that Rex can breathe fire, and only does it to light Wick's cigarettes.

Insane Demon - Insane Demon has been dating Junior since freshman year. She is nice girl with a kind personality from the big city! However, she doesn't really appreciate the change in Junior's attitude over the years. After all, she can't ignore it forever! She doesn’t always say how she feels, but deep down, she’s torn. Part of her still believes in the person Junior used to be… while another part wonders if he’s simply becoming someone new. Now, you, the player is faced with a crossroads. Do you help Junior remember who he was before everything changed, and try to guide him back? Do you help Insane Demon come to terms with who Junior is becoming and support her in choosing what’s best for herself? (or just don't do anything lollllllll you have 4 other options)

Extra Concept Arts Explained

Medium Demon's Text Mockup - I'm probably not going to use this design, like ever. It's cool on paper, but I feel like it may be too much. I might make a text box similarly to Deltarune's text boxes.

Atlantic Demon - This was a speed challenge drawing I did in like 10 minutes. Someone told me that Easy being the only male option in "Date A Demon" is kinda lame, so I want to change that. Atlantic Demon's personality will be similar to Berdly from Deltarune or Senpai from Friday Night Funkin.

Prom Night With Easy Demon - I wanted to see Easy Demon in a dress :o i also wanted to see if i can fit player in a suit
