This sub is growing rapidly and our existing mod team can barely manage to keep up. We're looking to add more mods. This will help keep this community on-topic, welcoming, and free of spam and trolls. The time commitment is one or two hours a week, tops.

It's been a little over a year since I took over as mod for this sub. It's been great seeing it grow and become ever more active. I love seeing the covers that people post.

However, I'm interested in what you think.

• What can we do to improve this sub?
• How can we make it better?
• What would you like to see more of? or less of?
• Do we censor covers too much? Or not enough? I'm sure many of you have opinions on this lol!

One particular area where I'm interested in your feedback is whether we should do more to cater to book collectors. Every so often I see people inquiring here about whether a rare paperback someone posted is available for purchase. If you collect these types of books, tell me what would be helpful. An occasional pinned post for buying and selling, maybe?

r/SexyBookCovers is a sub for sharing real actual book covers: Book covers that are a little naughty. Book covers that are vintage sleeze. Book covers that heard that "sex sells" and never looked back. If a book's cover art is gratuitously sexy or absolutely shameless, it probably belongs here.

This is not a porn sub. It is however a sub for grown-ups! Some covers can be pretty racy. We do try to mark especially spicy covers with NSFW or spoiler tags. But it may not necessarily be a great idea to browse this sub while you're at work or around young ones.

All book covers posted here are of real books that actually exist. Some may find certain covers, especially for vintage erotica from the 70's and 80's, offensive or problematic. Just because a cover is posted on this sub does not mean we endorse it or its contents. We are not recommending that you should run out and buy any of these books. In fact, in many cases you can't. Vintage smut paperbacks can be quite rare and hard to find, commanding high prices on the collectors market.

Instead, think of these books as historical cultural artifacts from a different time. Remember these are real books that were actually published by someone. This sub simply documents their existence.

Encountered an erotic ebook with particularly ridiculous cover art? Or stumbled across a smutty vintage paperback in a used bookstore? We'd love to see it! Feel free to post a pic of your find here. Be sure to include the book title in the title of your post.

Rules

Our rules have changed a bit. Please look them over before posting:

1. Post title must include name of book

>Please make sure the title of your post includes the name of the book. This is to make it easy to search for covers.

2. Sexy covers only

>Covers must be intended to titillate the reader in some way.

3. Real books only

>No fake book covers allowed. All books posted must be real.

4. Cover images must be of high quality

>Avoid posting low-resolution images of covers if there are better versions available. Cover images should be cropped so that the cover is centered and takes up most of the frame. For photos, the cover should be close enough to the camera that details are easy to make out. Avoid posting screenshots of your ebook app.

5. Please mark covers with nudity as NSFW

>Covers with bared naughty bits need to be marked NSFW.

6. Please use flair to mark covers that are gross or disturbing or highly explicit

>If the cover art is gross or disturbing, please use the GROSS OR DISTURBING post flair. If the cover art is highly explicit, please use the EXTREMELY NSFW flair. Automod will automatically add a spoiler tag to shield the eyeballs of unsuspecting redditors.

7. No self-promotion

>Do not post covers of books which you wrote or did the art for.

8. Be civil and respectful

>Personal attacks, insults, and harassment will not be tolerated and may result in a ban, especially if the behavior persists after a warning by the mods.

Generally speaking, we prefer not to remove covers that feature explicit art or offensive content, but instead to add warning flair and NSFW or spoiler tags. However, the mods reserve the right to remove posts at our discretion if we deem them too extreme, especially if they break the rules of reddit.
