MATASSA APPRECIATION
Got the opportunity to talk Tom Lubbe tonight and it was so awesome! What a great dude and I really just wanted to give him his flowers. I am not in industry, I’m just a guy who got put onto natural wine a couple of years ago and I’m just a consumer who’s falling deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of all of this so it was just a cool experience!
He’s in CA rn (not sure for how long) but I was actually able to introduce myself to him a couple of days ago at a wine salon in LA and he remembered my fucking name! So sick!
Basically it was Matassa night at Night + Market in LA and I decided to splurge a bit and try some wines that I felt like I wouldn’t have the opportunity to try any time soon.
Genuinely love Matassa because IMO most cuvées are so easy to drink but bring you enough complexity/are interesting enough to make for a very rewarding loop of drinking because it simply tastes good and then you’re also taking a second to think about what you are tasting then you do it again and again.
I’m trying to convert more of my buddies into drinking wine, and Matassa has never failed me when I would share it with the homies.
