Am I doing this right?
My 9 and a half month old is extremely energetic. She became mobile pretty early and currently is cruising furniture and getting into everything she possibly can 😅 anyway, I think my daughter is “low sleep needs” but because she’s so energetic, I second guess her sleep schedule and wonder if I’m not providing her the opportunity to get the rest she truly needs.
Wake windows currently are 3/3.5/4.
We’ve got stuck in a cycle of bedtime at 8:30pm, and morning wake time at 6:30am. I’ve tried to add more awake time, which is what brought us to the 6:30am wake time and current ww’s (she was previously waking up at 4-5am ready for the day).
Her naps are decently consistent, with about an hour and a half long each. If I’m doing math correctly, her total sleep for 24 hr is on average 13 hours.
I’ve tried cutting down daytime sleep and doing an earlier bedtime in hopes of a longer stretch at night to no avail. We put her down at 7:30pm one night (wake window was at 3.25) and she laid there awake until 8:30pm 😅
So I guess the point of this post is this- am I going about her sleep right? She’s a pretty happy baby, like I said super energetic and super mobile. I’m a first time mom so I get worried over the little stuff easily. I just want to be sure I’m not harming my daughter developmentally due to poor sleep
