Hi all,

I’ve reached what appears to be a final settlement through ACAS mediation (not yet signed).

However, what I didn’t consider is that I have effectively signed away my redundancy rights. For around 10 years service, this is substantial. I didn’t realize a break of more than a week resets this to zero.

With that in mind, the agreement doesn’t reflect the value of what I’ve given up.

Is there anything I can do now?

The termination date proposed also doesn’t allow for avoiding or mitigating the one week rule.

They stated they would seek to recover certain statutory/contractual payments if I didn’t accept their offer. I had researched this but understood it would be unlikely they’d succeed due to the nature of the claim.

To the legal experts, what kind of settlement uplift would you expect for giving up roughly 10 years service? It’s probably a moot point now.
