As I've read more of the discourse on this question I've read several interpretations of what pressing the different buttons means. Those who advocate for the red button tend to call it the "only safe choice." And while I can see where they are coming from, where they are coming from sounds very lonely. So i read the question like this:

Press blue if you trust at least 50% of people to press blue. (Other people will look out for me)

Press red if you don't trust at least 50% of people to Press blue. (Other people will not look out for me/people are selfish)
