We hired a local Windows installer who had good reviews and seemed to know his craft well. Came out a couple of times for measurement and estimate were fairly timely. We decided to move forward on a large project and gave a 30% down payment to order the windows which he thought would take about 3 weeks. That was a little over a month ago. We needed to get back to him on one decision which we did soon after ago which he replied to. Since then it's been radio silence. He needed to give us an estimate on another aspect of the project and never has, and I've asked for a status on the windows order/approx install date via email and calls and received no replies the last 2 weeks.
Suggestions on how to handle this at this point? Concerned about the total lack of communication. Never experienced this before with a contractor. Be patient? Do I need to push this? Time to ask for deposit back?
