Question about post botox side effects

I hear a lot of people saying they get regurgitation. I have GERD and i’m emetophobic so this possible side effect is scaring me so bad. I am on a PPI- Lansoprazole 30 mg! and it helps soooooo much. I have an appointment coming up next week and i’m hoping to get the surgery scheduled fast. so my question is, do you think me being on a ppi will eliminate the chances of having the regurgitation?

So many posts I’ve made today, so sorry! I just called and scheduled an appointment to see Dr. Magister. I’m very hopeful, but do not want to get my hopes up entirely. Is there anyone that has seen him? And if he did the botox procedure, how was it? TIA 😊

Hi. I am 21 years old and I have had emetophobia since I was around 6 years old. I have SEVERE panic attacks due to this. RCPD has ruined my life, I feel like. I’ve never ever been able to burp, and the couple times I have, they’ve been traumatizing! I basically air vomited. This was years ago, when my symptoms weren’t ruining my day to day. Now that I’m getting older, my symptoms and anxiety have been getting worse. My mental health is at an all time low. I’m afraid to leave my house, I barely eat. I just got married last Saturday, and at my reception I was outside having a panic attack because I had so much throat nausea. My now husband says just to gag myself and let the air out, but I cannot. I just can’t. I’m shaking right now thinking about having to even do that. I hate that I’m this bad off and it’s ruining my life. I want to eat normally and have a good belch afterwards. I’m gluten free as well, I have been since I was about 17. Before my symptoms were awful. I’ve been diagnosed with GERD and have always had terrible acid reflux. (edit: I am on a PPI, it’s Lansoprazole and it’s helped soooo much with the reflux!)** **I avoid everything I’m supposed to, and I eat slowly and only takes sips of water. At the end of the day, I still have so much gas in my chest. My shoulders and chest hurt almost everyday. I’m in WV so, I don’t know of anyone who does the botox around here. I’m also terrified to get the botox because my mind associates burping with throwing up. And I also think “oh, if it’s makes me burp now, I won’t have an issue throwing up.” And that makes me so scared. I would do anything not to throw up, like I’d rather 😵. I’m not exaggerating. I just want to have a normal life. I’m 21. I want to overcome this so deeply. My mind keeps going to all of the horrible things that could happen if I did get the botox. Im also so scared of the slow swallow. I just don’t know what to do. If you’re emetophobic like me and have had the surgery, please give me the pros and cons! Tell me how to overcome the fear of getting sick!!! I know if I got the surgery and could burp I would feel like a new person, and the thought of maybe getting it gives me hope. I need to do something about it, because I can’t live like this anymore. TIA ❤️

Hi! Does anyone know of any doctor that does this in West Virginia? The closest to me is in PA and i’m not sure how to go about getting a surgery out of state. 😅
