I have 4 websites.

2 almost completely ignored for 6-18 months with no posts or social media. 1 semi worked on once a month, 1 worked on once a week or so.

Within the past 2 weeks:

  • Ignored 1 = literally overnight 10x traffic to 30k after 2 years of dropping traffic.
  • Ignored 2 = gradual 5x traffic over 2 weeks after 1 year of dropping traffic.
  • Semi-worked 1 = rank 5 to rank 2 on main keyword.
  • Worked 1 = -3x traffic over 2 months, still declining.

No clue what to do or even think about this.

I thought I hit the jackpot after cooking and experimenting for a year but a friend hit me with the "needs to be fluffier".

So.

220 Celsius degree ventilation mode in the oven.

Upgrades done so far and things I've seen improve the bread:

  • Went from 10g to 14g protein flour
  • 1st proofing in the fridge
  • Immediately putting in an oven tray to proof for 1 hour once it has done it's 1st proofing, underproof rather than overproof
  • Cut down on oil on top to avoid early crusting
  • Avoiding watery vegetables/cheese inside the bread, only dried vegetables/parmegan
  • 60 > 80% hydration
  • Added salt to first proofing to slow down yeast
  • Put 100ml of water in the bottom row of the oven to create steam to have a nicer/slower crust
  • More oil to the bottom to avoid bread breaking when taking out
  • Overcook rather than undercook
  • Wire rack after baking to avoid soggy bottoms
