Hi everyone,

I’m considering the Costa de la Luz as a possible place to live with my medium-sized dog.

I’m looking for honest experiences about summer climate in towns like Cádiz, El Puerto de Santa María, Chiclana, Conil, Huelva or Sanlúcar.

Is July/August heat humid and muggy, or more dry and manageable? Do nights cool down? Is daily life with a dog possible, or do you need to avoid going outside most of the day?

I’m looking for a normal town/city with infrastructure, not a tiny village or pure tourist resort. I’d like cafés, shops, restaurants, moderate rents and dog-friendly walking areas.

Which Costa de la Luz towns would you recommend or avoid for year-round living with a dog concerning climate

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for Spanish cities/regions that are a middle ground climate-wise: not as wet as Northern Spain, but not as extremely hot or humid as Valencia, Alicante, Murcia or inland Andalusia.

I’ll be moving with a medium-sized dog, so I’m especially concerned about summer heat, humidity, warm nights, hot asphalt and whether there are shaded areas or parks.

I’m okay with 30–35°C and occasional 35–37°C, but I want to avoid weeks of 40°C+ and muggy, sauna-like heat.

I’m looking for a real city or larger town, not a village or tourist resort, with moderate rents and normal everyday life.

Which areas would you suggest? I’ve been considering Reus/Tarragona/Baix Camp/Girona, but I’m open to other ideas.
