A few words of Gratitude

I have converted a college I really wanted . And was just jumping when I got the result.

I was all soo depressed seeing my waitlist numbers at all Clgs i gave interviews. Pushing me in self-doubt. But despite the situation. This community is the one that held me from going insane....

This sub was the only reason I used reddit, but this made me realise the significance reddit holds and the type of community bond it provides.

Im having so many emotions writing this but im literally not able to type anything.

Anywaysss thank you to this sub and the people to keeping it fun and active, directly or indirectly making someone's day.

I don't really wish to disclose my Convert yet... Just enjoy this post from a neutral view

Just Dropped a new Tier List

And here are my 2 cents . Purely from a looks perspective, I'm an occasional graphic designer so I tend to hold some opinions on logos . And these are my impressions when I first time applied for these colleges and saw the logos .

S tier

Ahmedabad - Looks like a bold legacy, with a modern minimal look

Udaipur - Nice colour choice, playful logo with a Bold Serif font. Showing a fun yet serious vibe.

Visakhapatnam - Feels modern and ambitious with the bright colour showing motivation.

A tier

Jammu - Tried to be modern minimal , but went a bit artistic. Love the free bird and sun rise depiction, giving hope.

Indore - Give a wee bit of a Bank vibe. But yet the logo gives a hifi technological innovation type of vibe

Calcutta - May look retro, but the brown colour adds a rustic feel and design and clean without much clutter. radiating confidence.

B

Bodh Gaya - shows a culturally rooted stance with a tender Outlook towards the world like a delicate leaf. Gives a bold vibe , could have been A, but missed something on a small grace mark.

Ranchi - Overall looks like book publisher's logo . Yet the Green with Grey is a great choice giving a pleasant and ambitious look, with that bird showing progress.

C

Amritsar - Yeah Cultural and fancy , but looks more like a sticker than a logo.. can't say much.

Raipur - Idk man only gave C , since it's doing some negative space usage . Apart from that this looks like a School logo.

Kashipur - Tried to be modern, but ended looking like a Bank or a Recycle logo

Trichy - Tried a Innovative and creative design, going away from Circular and Semi circles. But still have a newchannel or a Real estate company logo. Yet looks Upbeat and ambitious.

D

Nagpur and Sirmaur - Book and the Sunrise , classic School logo . This reminds me of my own school , the logo on every book we had. Gives a very nerdy look, not like a B school. Nagpur is slightly better than Sirmaur here.

Mumbai - I would have given a C for this. But man this looks like a keychain Holder no offence ( slightly like a Tissue Paper holder on Restaurant tables) and I can't unsee it. I can think the designer had a Gate or a metal design in mind giving a royal look . But my eyes don't see it.

Bangalore - Ok, my mind was dragging me to put it on a top tier . But my heart keeps saying the design ain't worth. Its too simple, it doesn't talk any thing to me. It's having the work IIM at the core of the logo for me, it could've had some design element. The text is stopping the flow. No It looks like half of my Tea Saucer in my Cupboard.

E

( ok E and below are more like personal hate items for me , i personally felt disappointed in the designs or felt like they dont give a Bschool Vibe at all)

Rohtak , shillong - Fertilizer brand logos. ( My personal opinions)

Sambalpur - Textile Engineering College logo

F

Lucknow - too maximalist, someone got an early access to ms paint and they wanted to use every effect. Looks like the Logo of a old News Chanel which got shut down .

Kozhikode - trying to fit in too many details, as if trying to make a chart rather than a Logo.
