External Hydrocephalus?

Hi - hoping to see if anyone had experience with this. I have an ex-27+6, who spent 64 days in the NICU (coming home at 37 weeks exactly), and all things considered, had a very normal course. Currently 9 months actual, 6 adjusted...We've been followed by her NICU clinic and the main thing they have been watching is her head circumference, which has bene growing rapidly. Large heads run in our family, but they had us do an ultrasound a couple months ago, all which came back clear. At this week's appointment, they were concerned about the continued growth, so we were sent to see a neurosurgeon. At the appointment today, she said she thinks it is likely external hydrocephalus, so we will get an MRI. If needing treatment, we will either (hopefully) do it endoscopically, or putting in a shunt. Her development and weight gain has been excellent, but it would be to prevent any issues in the future. Of course, this has set me backwards to my NICU trauma, and sounded scary, but wondering if anyone had a similar experience they could share. Thank you!
