Sony A6700 + Godox IT30Pro + SmallRig cage combo issue
Hi everyone,
I have a Sony A6700 with a SmallRig cage, and I bought a Godox iT30Pro for Sony and the Godox Hot shoe TTL riser.
The problem is that I can’t fully insert the trigger into the camera’s hot shoe because it physically hits the part of the cage near the cold shoe mount.
I was thinking about trying the TTL hot shoe riser, but seems like i’m running into the exact same issue again.
Has anyone experienced this with the A6700 + cages?
I’d really like to keep using a cage, both for grip and because it makes the camera body feel more protected in my hands + could be useful for some accessories.
I mostly use the A6700 for travel and street photography, so I wouldn’t use the flash all the time, but I still prefer having a cage on the camera and to be able to mount my flash plug and play, without unbuilding the entire rig.
I’m trying to understand what the best solution would be:
a different cage? (not even sure which one would actually give more clearance around the shoe)
half cage?
another type of hot shoe extender/offset adapter?
another type of flash or other suggestions?
Would really appreciate any advice or setup recommendations. Thanks!
