I’m trying to find a place to live for me and my daughter, but I’ve been struggling because my credit took a major hit after my recent divorce. I’m planning to file for bankruptcy soon to get back on my feet, but right now I urgently need stable housing.

I was denied for Section 8 because of a mortgage showing on my credit and the debt I fell behind on during the marriage. I do have a steady job and reliable income — I’m just in a really difficult position right now and feeling overwhelmed trying to figure out my next step before we end up homeless.

If anyone has advice, resources, or knows of places that work with bad credit or are understanding of situations like this, I would really appreciate it.
