So I am quite possibly stuck in the worst possible situation.

I am an orphan. My sibling is on f1-opt in the us. I live with my grandmother. Currently, I have around 1 yoe at a big 4 with mid salary. To study, I have sufficient funds. However, I have many concerns.

  1. When asked how do you have x amount of funds, your salary is quite low and you have worked for <1 yoe, I will have to say it is inherited.

  2. Due to this VO already has concluded that I don't have enough ties to my home country.

  3. My sibling being on OPT is another separate issue.

  4. I have a B2 visa appointment booked for next month. (I had booked it couple of years ago when my situation was way better). I will most definitely be rejected, so I am thinking of skipping it to have a clean record.

What should I do? I would be happy to provide any more info if needed.

Thank you and apologies if my grammar gave you a heart attack.

Note: I just want to check if I have any chances at all for F1 before starting to apply for masters in the us. I would aim for Fall 2027 (Ik it's wayy too early to be asking this now, but I also need advice on whether I should skip b2 and I am feeling very anxious) if possible. Please advise. I know job market is bad and I should forget about us, but isn't it the same with literally any country in the world?

So, I (22M, India) had booked a B1/B2 visa long back in 2024 October. My Appointment is in june this year (had it rescheduled due to some issues).

Reason for applying is I want to watch the austin F1 GP with my sister as she lives in Austin she's in F1-OPT) and tour maybe a couple of must visit places (NYC, Vegas etc). I currently have <1 yoe at a big 4 with mid salary. The real reason why I am feeling nervous is that I am an orphan, I live with my grandmother. My travel will be self funded (I have sufficient funds for the same), however, I have never done ITR (was a student and this is my first year working) and when they ask the source of funds, I will have to tell them that it is inheritance and then they might flag me for not having sufficient ties to the home country and refuse me.

Any one of these factors can be grounds of refusal and combine them all, I don't think I have much chance. While I am fine with getting rejected, I want to explore studying in the US and I am concerned whether a rejected B2 or not showing up for a B2 interview will have a negative impact on any future F1 applications, when I do want to study in the US.

Hence, I need any advice on what to do, and what all can strengthen my case.

Any other info: I have past travel history of solo travel to UAE for 2 weeks last year and Singapore for 1 week with family in the last 5 (although this one seems irrelevant as I was a minor then).

I will be happy to provide any info which can help you advise me better.
