Why does people keep making overpowered OCs?

It's just plain boring to create overpowered, multiversal threat OCs. Be a fodder character, in reality you'd be a nobody in the Naruto universe. Being the strongest is just boring, you'd have no competition whatsoever and where's the fun in that?
