My 7yo is still using the Learn to Play gear (with upgraded skates and helmet) but she’s started getting more ice time, and therefore, I’m thinking about upgrading to better quality stuff. When her brothers started playing more they got nicer gear, too.

Shes not a small kid, so I’m not worried about frequent outgrowing, though obviously she will need new stuff at times. I’m wondering when to buy female specific gear?

I love the CCM FTW line but not sure if it’s worth the investment before a certain age. She has autism (level 1) and some sensory sensitivities. She has some discomfort putting gear on but is usually fine once she’s on the ice.

Has anyone got any experience with this?
