Anybody had any luck with completing closing perianal fistula whilst on Infliximab/Remsima?
I am currently suffering with perianal Crohn's and two fistulas both anterior and posterior. I currently have a Seton posteriorly but anteriorly I had the Seton removed in Jan with a flap and filac. I have a repeat filac in March. I have now been told by surgeons to wait 6 months for a reasses.
I'm currently on Remsima but currently still draining anteriorly, 8 weeks post the last procedure. Is there hope
Regarding the anterior wound only, In Jan I had a flap and filac and I had a additional filac treatment to the anterior wound, I'm now 8 weeks post last op and still with a open wound that's still draining.
I have been advised due to biologic treatment they only assessing it after 6 months however I feel very stuck that this isn't getting better
I have recently had two surgery's. One on the mid Jan with a mini flap and filac. I had another on mid March where I had a just a re-filac of the tract
The external of the wound is trying to close, (basically closing for a few days) and I'm barely getting any draining. Post bowel movements I'm getting a slight mucus drainage and it re-opening. In general the drainage is getting less and less as post surgery I was having stool drain out the tract etc.
On my last CRS follow up, last week, he advised me to take a 6-7 month break from surgeries and we reassess everything in 6 months.
I'm currently on Remsima and azathioprine to assist with it all. Has anybody in this kind time frame had their wounds eventually close?
