Hi reddit! I'm an artist starting to expand from digital and acrylic paint to multimedia/colored pencils/crayons. Unfortunately, I also struggle with SH and while I'm in recovery and doing really well, there are certain bladed objects I really can't have in my home, and pencil sharpeners are one of them.

Basically, I'm hoping someone here might know of an option that doesn't allow you to remove the blade, ideally doesn't have a visible blade, and isn't electric/crank-style. I'm fine with something that has a blade, as long as I can't remove it without breaking the object and especially if the blade isn't really visible (i.e. the case isn't transparent).

Knives aren't triggering for me personally, just straight up blades or bladed objects. As such I've considered using my pocket knife, but worry it'd also waste too much of the pencil and I'd unintentionally injure myself. My only current option is sandpaper, which I'm sure would work just fine. But I was hoping for a more traditional sharpener option since my girlfriend uses make-up pencils and would like one for those when we move in together.

Thank you to anyone with suggestions!
