I’ve been thinking about this since last year and wanted to see if others also noticed the same thing.

So I had applied for the YEIDA plot scheme, and like many others, I was tracking the lottery process on youtube.

From what I observed (and I might be wrong, so open to correction):

Only a very small fraction of applicants (~1%) seemed to be invited to the actual online draw process
Out of those, quite a number of peple ended up getting allotments.

Now statistically, this feels a bit strange. If the initial filtering itself is that narrow, and then such a high success rate within that small group, the odds don’t quite add up intuitively.

I’m not saying anything conclusively, but Is there transparency on the selection criteria? Would really appreciate if someone who understands the system better (or has inside clarity) can explain how this works.

Just trying to make sense of it.

Thanks.
