How do I find meaning in work?

I have had a lot of issues with holding down a job since I graduated college. I've only ever been in entry level roles because I constantly feel terrible about work. I've worked non customer facing roles, and even though they are a little less annoying, it's still ultimately miserable. I'm always in a bad mood before and at work, and when I get off work, I constantly dread going back. I have diagnosed ADHD which I suspect might be part of it, but I'm not sure. It doesn't help that I got an IT degree, and yet I've been unable to even get an interview for a help desk job, which makes me feel like the four plus years I spent on my degree was worthless even though I picked IT specifically because I thought it would secure me a decent career.

I know that lots of people don't like their jobs, but I just don't see how anyone can even motivate themselves in life that way. Work takes up at least half your day at least five days a week, not including getting ready for the day/traveling to work. And when you're not at work, there's groceries, cooking, cleaning, and other responsibilities to take care of. If you add stuff that you're supposed to do to stay healthy like exercising, sleeping the right amount of time, and keeping up with social arrangements, I find that there's no time at all to do anything I want.

For those of you who hate working, how do you find the time or meaning in life outside of work? Or how do you make your work meaningful? I don't have a partner or family to take care of, and my only real motivation for working is just to keep myself alive and sheltered.
