-I set up a self sustaining tank i did top soil no fertilizer or anything extra…..purely top soil.
-I capped it with course sand and gravel
-I listened to the first pet store and tossed a whole wafer and dead coral inside and that made my filterless tank smell horrid and threw off my parameters from the coral.
To fix tank one (everything was dead by now) I removed the coral due to it leaching into the tank and buffered the ph and rose the alkalinity.
I also did two 50% water changes and waited two weeks before adding new shrimp.
These shrimp survived 2 days max and refused to eat in the tank when I added algae wafers this morning I woke up and found them dead
I did an ammonia test it came to be zero
I have a thermometer set at (75 F)
I sat the bags of shrimp in the tank for 4 hours for temp adjustment and then drip acclimated for 4 hours
PLEASE HELP, I went to two pet stores and they both said this is ideal parameters… obviously something is wrong
TESTING PARAMETERS ARE IN THE SECOND PHOTO PLEASE SWIPE
