With all the chat about the new VSF 15510, I thought I’d dig out my Gen 15300 to see how good the TOP 15510 (which I only just got before VSF was announced) really is.
In all honesty I knew I was good but having the side by side has blown me away! I know it’s not the same model so not apples for apples but still.
First the brushing - i had my 15300 refinished by AP around 3 years ago, and the finish on the TOP is very close, maybe not quite a deep/grainy but I’d say 90-95% when looking super close.
Bracelet - yes the gen is smoother and the TOP is slightly sharp around the edges, but the drape is spot on. With a bit of work with some wet-n-dry sandpaper the TOP can make a leap forward.
Also the 15510 bracelet tapers to the same width as the 15300, but I noticed it doesn’t flair out as much, and the bracelet is thinner. They don’t wear that differently apart from the fact the dial takes up more real estate.
Dial - different colour dials so hard to say.
Overall - really impressive given the price disparity.
The 15300 was my daily beater for years (I’ve had it 12 years now) but became a safe queen when the market went crazy. This TOP15510 will now definitely be in the rotation…I’m still actually self conscious about wearing it anywhere “unsafe” as it doesn’t attract attention.
Anyone on the fence I’d say go for it!
